Questions and Answers

1.  Which tank is it better to choose: one-layer or multilayer?

While choosing a tank, first of all you should clarify the conditions of its operation that is what it will be used for and what functions it will perform. Both one-layer and multilayer tanks are meant for the storage of drinking water, food products as well as corrosive chemicals (see: the spheres of the use  of the tanks). However while comparing the technical qualities of the one-layer and multilayer tanks a few advantages of the multilayer ones should be stressed.

What are they?

1.       -  The multilayer tanks are durable. It is the result of their thick walls and the extra molecular links, which appears in the process of “sewing “ polyethylene;

   The   carried out experiments proved that the multilayer tanks protect the contents from the ultraviolet rays much better. The darker the tanks are the slower is the process of the penetration of the UV rays.  

That’s why the company Euro Plast”  manufactures the tanks with the first dark blue or black layer which prevents water from the green scum; moreover the ultraviolet agent is added to the second blue layer. It considerably strengthens the protection from UV rays and prolongs the service life of the tanks.

2. Where are the tanks used?

 

The spheres of the use of plastic tanks are very various:

- everyday use;
- different branches of industry :
  • Food industry (tanks for accumulation and storage of liquid and dry products, salting, technological processes, e.g. fermentation);
  • Chemical industry ( tanks for storage of corrosive substances);
  • Machine-building industry;
  • Building.
  • Coal industry.

 - agriculture (fertilizer storage and application , watering and spraying , tanks for sprayers);

- fish industry, tanks for storage, transportation and salting of fish;

- tank equipment for greenhouses , stock-raising complexes, tanks for sprayers;

- fire tanks;

- accumulative tanks for recreation center , holiday hotels (drinking-water);;

- tanks for realization of the purified drinking-water in pharmacies, shops;;
etc.

3. How are the tanks used in everyday life?

· for the accumulation of drinking-water in blocks of flatst and private houses;

· reservoirs for the water supply;

· for trickle irrigation;

· for watering the lands;

· for rain-water accumulation;

· for storage of crops and other dry, viscid, jelly-like food products;

· a septic tank in private houses, for the faeces accumulation;

· for a summer shower cubicle,

· tanks for pouring of water in a pool.


4. How can the tanks be used in agriculture?

· water transportation;

· application of liquid fertilizers,

· watering and irrigation,

· storages of juices,

· for all types of salting any vegetables and fruits (tomatoes, cucumbers, egg-plants, apples etc. ); and being equipped with the bleeding nozzles the tanks can be used for storage and fermentation of wines, pickling cabbage, etc.;

· for food processing with the process of fermentation;

· for storage of CAM (carbamide ammoniac mixture, liquid fertilizer)


 

5. The resistance of the tanks. What can be kept in them?

Plastic tanks are intended for storage in permanent conditions:

- liquid,
- viscid,

- fluid,

- powdery,

- granular,

- alcohol-containing,

- food,
- chemical,

- pharmaceutical,

- combustive-lubricating and other corrosive substances (see the chart of resistance).

If a tank is filled with chemicals in course of operation to provide its integrity and functionality it is necessary: - to check up the resistance of polyethylene to different chemicals according to "The chart of the polyethylene resistance to different chemicals"; - to check up the density of the chemical - if the density of the liquid is over 1200 kg/m3 it is necessary to manufacture a tank with the thickened walls as compared to the base one. We are ready to provide a customer with the samples of polyethylene to test its chemical resistance.

The temperature conditions of operation are from - 40 C to +70 C.

The group of flammable substances is an exception as the tanks containan antistatic agentthat can be explosive.




6. How to bury a tank?

A tank should be mounted on the open puddled ground or a concrete foundation with the size which is not smaller thah the size of the tank. The subsidence of the foundation is inadmissible. The tank must perch on the ground with all its surface.The permissible deviation from the horizontality of the concrete foundation in the direction of the longitudinal and transversal axes is up to 2 mm for 1 m. The permissible size of the ledges and hollows of the foundation surface is up to 1 mm.

The use of the tanks of the base thickness* for the underground installation:

The tanks of the base* thickness (*indicated in the price-list) can be mounted under the ground on the following conditions:

  1. Build a sump with brick or concrete walls.
  2. The distance from the walls of the tank should be not smaller than 20 cm to prevent the external pressure on the tank and to provide a convenient mounting.

The bottom of the sump should be evened with sand or a concrete foundation should be built. A small well with the size of 35х35х35 cm must be built near the wall at the bottom of the sump.

The small well serves for lowering of the drainage pump to pump the water from the sump in case of the failure of the shut-off-regulating accessories or the overflow of the tank.

  1. Cover the sump with the concrete ceiling with a convenient hatch to provide the access inside. The suitable distance from the lid of the tank to the ceiling is not shorter than 30 cm.

  1. Insert a pipe Ǿ 200 mm with a vent removable shade in the concrete ceiling above the small well for ventilation and lowering the drainage pump in case the sump is overflooded.
  2. It is possiblre to mount a special exposed filling mouth made from a pipe ? 110 mm with a stub in the upper part of the tank to provide quick filling of the tank from the external source ( a water-carrier).
  3. Fit a hatch.

The use of the special tanks for the underground installation:

The tanks with the thickened walls or the special ones for the underground installation (septic tanks) are mounted in the ground without a sump on the following conditions:

- Dig up a pit 15 cm bigger in size than the tank;

- Insert the tank;

- Fill the tank with water the four-fifth of its volume;

- Fill the gap between the walls of the tank and the pit thoroughly with the mixture of sand and cement in the ratio of 10:1;

- Think over the building of the well to provide the access into the tank if the lid is located below the surface of the soil.

Attention!

- wrong filling of the gap can cause the deformation of the tank and invalidate the warranty (fig. 3);

- the maximum depth of mounting is not more than 80 cm from the lid of the tank;

- the installation of a tank under a traffic area is forbidden (fig. 4);

- the installation of a tank on the unstable steep slopes without a sump is forbidden because of the threat of landslides (fig.5,6)

- if the level of the subterranean waters is higher, than the bottom of the tank, it must be inserted in a concrete insulating well;

- if the construction of the tank is changed by a consumer the warranty invalidates.



7. Is it possible to install any additional equipment, nozzles?

Additional equipment and nozzles from ½ to 2 inches can be installed on any tanks. The number of nozzles for the filling and drain of liquid from a tank is determined by the conditions of the operation of the tank. However, to grant lifetime extensions, the convenient operation and the installation of additional equipment it is necessary to co-ordinate with a manufacturing plant.


8. Is it possible to install a nozzle on your own?

You can cut a noozle in a tank on your own with the help of a cutter head of a definite size which is joined to a drill. But all the holes must be agreed with the manufacturing plant. If cutting in the noozle was performed technically incorrectly the plant is not responsible for the term of the operation.


9. What are the sizes of the filler?

The size of the filler varies from 160 to 500 mm in accordance with the size of the tank.


 

10. Transportation ? Is it possible to use tanks as water-carriers?

A water - carrier is a tank - car or a semitrailer cistern, intended for transportation and temporal storage of drinking - water, milk, dairies, juices, wort , wine and other food liquids. In agriculture it can also be used while transporting water for watering or applying different kinds of liquid fertilizers and growth stimulants on the fields. However, not all businessmenand farmers, can allow themselves to purchase a water-carrier, correlating the necessity of its operation with the cost. Exactly in such cases the horizontal tanks manufactured by "Euro Plast" become irreplaceable.The assortment of them varies widely from 100 to 5 000 litres. Having mounted any tank on the vehicle (КАМАZ, truck or even a minibus) available, you can get a water-carrier for a necessary time period.

The obvious advantages of such water-carriers are the price, the low weight of tanks ( low weight also allows to mount and dismantle a tank easily , that will make it feasible to use a vehicle on the direct purpose)as well as the fact that they resist to the sharp variations of temperature. However, standard tanks are intended for permanent storage of substances.While using the tanks for transporting substances it is necessary to use only strengthened tanks with the walls 1,5 times thicker than the base one. Druring the transportation the tank filled with any substance must be placed on an even surface, reliably fastened by the bands to the transporting means. Any external physical impact must be prevented. Niether the manufacturer nor the seller is responsible for the use of a tank for transporting liquids and its possible damage. The thickening of a tank is recommendatory. Before loading or unloading it is necessary to make sure , that the tank is empty. Both loading and unloading is done by hand. While being lifted a tank must be supported by its bottom. The transportation should be fulfilled by any means of transport with the proper lift capacity and overall dimensions of the loading platform.The transporting position for horizontal tanks is horizontal, for vertical tanks is vertical.

During the transportation the tank must be placed in the position "the hatch is upwards" and fastened with the safety belts.


11. Warranty terms?

Tanks come with a full one-year warranty after the date of sale.

If a tank is used for the storage of food , the term of operation of the product is 10 years since the date of sale. The normative term of operation is 50 years.

If a tank is used for the storage of chemicals the term of operation requires additional clarification.

Какие емкости выбрать однослойные или многослойные?

Выбирая емкость, прежде всего, необходимо определиться с условиями ее эксплуатации, т.е. для чего она нужна и какие функции будет выполнять. И однослойные и многослойные емкости предназначены для хранения питьевой воды, пищевых продуктов, а так же химически агрессивных веществ (см. сферы применения емкостей).  Однако, сравнивая технические показатели однослойных и многослойных емкостей можно выделить несколько  преимуществ именно многослойных. 

В чем они заключаются? 

1.       Многослойные емкости прочные .  Это обусловлено  толщиной стенки емкостей, а так же  дополнительными  молекулярными связями, которые возникают в  процессе «сшивания» полиэтилена.

2.       Проведение экспериментов доказало, что  многослойные емкости значительно лучше защищают содержимое от проникновения ультрафиолетовых лучей. Чем темнее емкости, тем замедленней происходим процесс проникновения УФ лучей. Поэтому компания  «Евро Пласт» производит емкости, в которых  1-й слой  темно-синего или черного цвета предотвращает процесс цветения воды, во 2-слой  (голубого цвета) добавляется ультрафиолетовый стабилизатор, что значительно увеличивает защиту от УФ лучей и  срок службы емкости.
